UPDATE: Since posting this story, the KEEN web-app has been discontinued by Google. It was good while it lasted. Google has become well- known for starting something and then just letting it drop. Remember that when creating something new. Don’t be a Google.

On those days when I am looking to work on a project, whether it be writing or art, there are times when there is a lack of inspiration. I have found a new way to take a few minutes a day to consume bite-sized information which may contain either direct or indirect writing ideas. It is called KEEN.

KEEN is a Web app developed by Google’s in-house incubator Area 120. That’s the place they work on new and experimental projects.

I use it for visual stimulation minus all the friending and liking and sharing and retweeting: no followers = no pressure to entertain.

Here is my first foray into making my own collection instead of scrolling through those made by others:

Let me know what you think.
